Mayfair - Playground of the Famous and Infamous
Starting at Green Park Tube Station, we will visit the playground of the aristocracy, rich and powerful. We will see where the Queen was born, see some Learned Societies, some stunning churches and some of the largest garden squares in London. We will look for ghosts at one of the most celebrated haunted houses and hear the history of Shepherds Market. On our walk, we will see where the richest man in America lived when in London and find out what George Frederick Handel and the rock legend Jimi Hendrix had in common. Finally we will hear how a young twelve year old girl’s inheritance led to the fourth richest man in the world today and we will visit “Little America” and hear all about our “special relationship” dating back to the 18th century. Our walk will finish at Bond Street tube station.
