The City of London is a world famous financial centre and home to some of the biggest banking and insurance institutions in the world, On our walk, we will discover the origins of the Bank of England, the importance of a gold grasshopper, why drinking coffee helped found the insurance industry and the stock exchange. We'll also find out how merchants from northern Italy gave us our financial language and why seventeenth century institutions are still relevant today.
