Sights and Sounds of the River Thames

Sights and Sounds of the River Thames

On this walk we guide you through 2000 years of history. Starting at Tower Hill we discover why London was founded by the Romans but not conquered by William I when he invaded England in 1066. We then stroll along the river and hear about the Medieval livery companies and about the great variety of goods loaded and unloaded at the quays. We enjoy the numerous sights and sounds of the river including ships, bridges, churches, an ancient monument and a modern waste management facility - all on the Thames riverside. We finish at Blackfriars
